While hosting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at White House, US President Donald Trump pointed at Erdogan, telling reporters, "He knows about rigged elections better than anybody." Trump drew parallels with Erdogan, who has been in power since 2014 and has often faced accusations of autocratic behaviour. Trump had falsely claimed election fraud during 2020 US Presidential polls.
