US President Donald Trump released $175 million in frozen federal funding to University of Pennsylvania after the institution agreed to ban transgender athletes from women's teams. The school agreed to adopt biology-based definitions for "male" and "female". The school also removed transgender swimmer Lia Thomas from school records and issued an apology to female athletes who competed against her.
