US President Donald Trump said "communist" New York mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani asked for a meeting with him. They'll meet at White House on Friday, Trump said. Trump had criticised Mamdani on several occasions, calling him an extremist and a danger to New York. Meanwhile, Trump's son, Eric Trump, had also criticised Mamdani accusing him of "hating Indian and Jewish population".
