Ex-diplomat Mahesh Sachdev criticised US administration's sudden decision to raise H-1B visa fee to $100,000 (₹88 lakh), saying the move was rushed and continues to hamper free flow of Indian professionals despite partial modifications. "They're trying to put toothpaste back in...the tube," Sachdev stated. He said American employers of H-1B personnel likely pushed back against the initial order.
