A tsunami with waves measuring around 10 to 13 feet struck parts of the Yelizovsky district in Russia’s Kamchatka region after an 8.8-magnitude earthquake hit the coast, officials said. Tsunami alerts have also been issued for Japan, Hawaii and several other Pacific islands. There have been no reports of damage or casualties so far.
