Actor Vijay's TVK filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe into the Karur stampede in which 41 people tragically lost their lives. The petition alleged that the tragedy occurred due to the negligence of the state administration. Despite being aware that a large crowd would gather, it alleged, the Tamil Nadu government failed to allocate an appropriate venue.
