People with Type 2 obesity-driven diabetes tend to have more aggressive breast cancers, revealed a study by Boston University. The study found that tiny blood particles called exosomes, when altered by diabetes, may increase breast cancer risk. Altered exosomes can reprogram immune cells inside tumour, making them weaker and allowing cancer to grow and spread more easily.
