UAE is planning to formalise yoga as a competitive sport and is developing a national framework through the country's Yoga Committee, reports said. The decision comes as part of UAE's efforts to diversify its sports portfolio and India's initiative to promote yoga globally. UAE is set to host international events, such as 6th Asian Yogasana Championship in Fujairah in 2025.
