UK withdrew its demand for Apple to create backdoor to its encrypted data after US officials and lawmakers raised concerns, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard said. Officials warned that such access could be exploited by cybercriminals and authoritarian governments. US earlier reviewed whether UK violated CLOUD Act, which bars it from issuing demands for data of Americans and vice versa.
