The UK on Wednesday lifted a five-year ban on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the country's national airline. "Airline carriers will still need to apply for permits to operate to the UK," the British High Commission said. PIA was banned from operating in the UK days after it was found that nearly one-third of Pakistan's pilots had obtained their licenses fraudulently.
