UK MPs vote in favour of legalising assisted dying

A draft law that would legalise assisted dying for terminally ill adults in England and Wales has cleared all of its initial stages in the UK's House of Commons. It has been passed by 314 votes to 291, a majority of 23. It will now move to the House of Lords for further scrutiny before becoming a law.
