European Union (EU) President Ursula von der Leyen announced that EU has sent €1 billion loan to Ukraine. This brings EU's support to Ukraine to almost €150 billion since 2022, she said. She added that "EU is with Ukraine for the long haul" and the loan would be repaid with interest from frozen Russian state assets being held in EU.
