Russian First Deputy UN Envoy Dmitry Polyanskiy has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of avoiding peace talks to prolong the war and maintain power. Polyanskiy said, "It is absolutely clear that Ukraine isn’t interested in negotiations...They’re simply playing games." He added that Zelenskyy doesn’t want to hold elections, since his term as president officially ended in May 2024.
