After meeting US President Donald Trump in Alaska, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in a press conference that Russia-Ukraine war is a "tragedy" and a "terrible wound" for both nations. Putin called the Ukraine situation a "fundamental threat" to Russia's security but added that Ukraine's security should also "be ensured". He added that Russia and Ukraine have the "same roots".
