An ultrasound 'helmet' developed by University of Oxford and University College London scientists may offer non-invasive treatment for Parkinson's. Unlike current deep brain stimulation methods that use metal frames fixed to skull, the helmet sits inside MRI scanner and contains 256 ultrasound sources. It delivers focused pulses to brain regions with 30 times more precision than earlier devices.
