The United Nations has reimposed sanctions on Iran due to its repeated violations of the 2015 nuclear agreement, which aimed to stop it from developing a nuclear bomb. The sanctions which have been reimposed via the 'snapback' mechanism also include an arms embargo and were triggered by Britain, France and Germany. Iran warned of a harsh rebuttal over the sanctions.
