Israeli forces said they have uncovered 800 shafts leading to Hamas tunnels below Gaza, adding that they have destroyed more than half of them. "Tunnel shafts were located in civilian areas, many of which were near or inside civilian buildings...such as schools, mosques and playgrounds," Israeli military said. Hamas had earlier said that it has hundreds of kilometres of tunnels.
