Astronomers at Caltech and CfA have located the universe's 'missing' matter using powerful radio bursts from 69 cosmic locations. They discovered it was hidden as thinly spread gas in vast space between galaxies. With all normal matter now accounted for, they found that 76% lies in intergalactic space, 15% in galaxy halos and 9% within galaxies as stars or gas.
