The Allahabad High Court pulled up UP government for failing to curb cow-related mob violence and vigilantism. The court noted that lawlessness in the name of "cow protection" threatens the rule of law. The court made observation while hearing a petition seeking quashing of an FIR that alleged that cow progeny were transported for slaughter but were found alive.
