India's first AI-powered road safety project is set to be rolled out in Uttar Pradesh after receiving the Centre's NOC. "The ministry confirmed the initiative complies with the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, and involves no financial liability for the Central government," an official said. State government allocated ₹10 crore in this year’s annual budget.
