The Uttar Pradesh Police have eliminated over 238 criminals and arrested another 30,694 under Operation Langda since March 2017, Republic reported. Under the operation, the police are instructed to shoot the criminals, who attempt to resist their arrest or flee, in the leg. Over this period, 18 police officers were also martyred, and 1,711 were injured, the report stated.
