An SHO was thrashed by a mob of about six people in UP's Varanasi after his car allegedly brushed an auto-rickshaw. The policeman, who identified himself as Ajit Verma, tried fighting back but was outnumbered while his wife and children watched from inside his car. Police officials from a nearby station rescued Verma after a constable failed to save him.
