Uttar Pradesh is expected to gain ₹30,000 crore in the long term following the Centre's move to simplify GST into two slabs, officials said. They added that state may initially face revenue shortfall of ₹3,500 crore. "Initially, we may feel a pinch, but in long term...state will be a beneficiary of this GST reform," said UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna.
