US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested more than 2,200 immigrants on Tuesday, the highest number of arrests in a single day in its history, NBC News reported. The arrested individuals were enrolled in ICE's Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program. Under this program, ICE releases undocumented immigrants deemed not to be threats to public safety and monitors them.
