As part of the copyright dispute with The New York Times (NYT) and other news outlets, a US federal judge has ordered OpenAI to hand over millions of anonymised chat logs from ChatGPT users. The federal body said that 20 million logs were relevant to the NYT's claim that OpenAI used their material without permission to train its AI systems.
