A New York appeals court on Thursday dismissed a $500 million penalty against US President Donald Trump in a civil fraud case. The lawsuit, filed in 2022, had accused Trump and his company of overstating the value of his properties to secure favourable bank loans. The court stated that the size of the fine was "excessive".
