After 20 years, the US has ended the requirement to remove shoes for security screenings at US airports. "We're very confident that we can continue to provide hospitality...while maintaining the same standard of security," US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said. The rule was made in 2006, five years after a 'shoe bomber' was arrested for hiding explosives in footwear.
