US President Donald Trump's administration has begun mass layoffs of employees as the government shutdown entered its 10th day. The layoffs have affected thousands of workers in Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, Education, Commerce and Homeland Security Departments, etc. Trump had earlier warned that layoffs will begin if negotiations with Democrats on ending the shutdown 'go nowhere'.
