US federal judge has temporarily blocked the President Donald Trump administration's plans to lay off federal workers amid the government shutdown. It comes after the administration confirmed several agencies had begun laying off about 4,000 workers. "You can't do that in a nation of laws. And we've laws here...and...things that are being articulated here aren't within...law," the judge said.
