People "associated with the US military" have been creating fake accounts on Facebook and Instagram to promote the country's interests abroad, Meta said in a report. The posts were focused on Afghanistan, Algeria, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Russia and Syria, among other nations. "The majority of this operation's posts had little to no engagement from authentic communities," Meta said.
