US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth directed the US Navy to rename USNS Harvey Milk, an oil tanker named after slain gay rights activist Harvey Milk. The Pentagon said Hegseth wants the names of military installations to reflect the Commander-in-Chief’s priorities. Earlier, he ordered the removal of books related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) from the libraries of military academies.
