German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that the US is prepared to join security guarantees for Ukraine, following talks with President Donald Trump. Merz said he and other European leaders had been briefed by Trump following his meeting in Alaska with Russian President Vladimir Putin. A Trump-Zelenskyy meeting is set for Monday, with a three-way Trump-Putin-Zelenskyy meeting expected soon.
