The US Treasury Department on Wednesday imposed sanctions on Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes overseeing the country's ex-President Jair Bolsonaro's trial, accusing him of authorising arbitrary pre-trial detentions and suppressing freedom of expression. Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva condemned the decision and called it an interference in Brazilian justice system.
