US sanctions on India's Chabahar port project in Iran took effect on Monday, ending the rare waiver that US granted in 2018. The move may compromise India's $500-600-million investments and connectivity ambitions to Afghanistan and Central Asia. Indian and foreign companies, including state-run India Ports Global, will have 45 days to exit Chabahar or risk having US-based assets frozen.
