The United States sided with Russia and refused to blame the latter for the invasion of Ukraine, which completed its third year this week, in votes on a Europe-backed UN resolution that demanded an immediate withdrawal of Russian troops. Notably, the US always voted with the Europeans under former President Joe Biden. India, China and Brazil abstained from voting.
