The US will refund around 50% of the tariffs if the country’s Supreme Court strikes down US President Donald Trump's 'reciprocal tariffs', US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said. Stating that issuing rebates "would be terrible" for the US Treasury, Bessent added that "numerous other avenues" can be taken instead of rebates but they would "diminish President Trump’s negotiating position".
