Italian PM Giorgia Meloni dismissed claims that US President-elect Donald Trump could forcefully annex Greenland and claimed his comments were aimed at sending a "message" to other global powers. Meloni said "growing Chinese prominence" had been noticed in Greenland and Panama Canal. Trump, who expressed a desire to buy Greenland, also said he wanted to seize control over Panama Canal.
