The alcohol industry sustains 5.3 lakh livelihoods in Uttar Pradesh, including 1.3 lakh in retail and over 3.4 lakh farmers via raw material procurement claimed ISWAI’s economic report. The report added that the industry also boosts tourism and hospitality. It also highlighted the sector’s role in rural development, backed by recent excise reforms that dismantled monopolies.
