Uttarakhand has become India's first state to pass the Minority Education Act, merging madrasas and minority-run schools into a unified system. The Madrasa Board will be abolished by July 2026, with all institutions required to get recognition from the Uttarakhand Minority Education Authority and affiliate with the state education board. CM Dhami calls it a historic step.
