After flash floods in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi left several people homeless, survivors were reportedly issued ₹5,000 cheques as "immediate relief" on Friday. Several people refused to accept it and called it an "insult" to their "suffering", TOI reported. "We have lost everything: our families, homes, businesses worth crores. This amount is an insult," a villager was quoted as saying.
