The first Vande Bharat Sleeper Express rake will roll out by June 2026 from the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory in Latur. Designed for 160 kmph speed, each rake will carry 823 passengers. Initially, two rakes will be built under Indian Railways and Kinet's contract. Full production, aiming for 1920 sleeper coaches, will follow after testing and phased manufacturing.
