The explosion in a Hyundai i20 car near Red Fort in Delhi, which killed at least eight people and injured dozens, was so strong that it flung another car's door 100 metres away, officials said. Eyewitnesses described the incident as a "massive fireball" followed by thick black smoke. The explosion even shattered windows of Lal Quila Metro Station located nearby.
