A vendor named Mayur Awale and his wife were seriously injured after they were brutally assaulted with bamboo sticks in Pune's Budhwar Peth after refusing to pay increased "hafta" to local goons. The incident occurred near Jogeshwari Temple Lane on September 19. Police registered the case under BNS sections and identified six accused, arresting one so far.
