A controversy has erupted after Miss Grand International (MGI) president, Nawat Itsaragrisil, called Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch a "dumbhead", leading to her and other contestants staging a mass walkout. Bosch said she deserved respect as a woman and as a delegate. Later, Nawat issued a public apology and was seen crying in front of the media.
