Actor and TVK chief Vijay issued his first statement after a stampede at his rally in Tamil Nadu's Karur killed at least 39 people. He wrote on X, "My heart is shattered...I'm writhing in unbearable, indescribable pain...that words cannot express." He added, "I extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to...families of my dear brothers and sisters who lost their lives."
