Actor-politician Vijay's party, TVK, announced the suspension of his statewide tour for two weeks, days after the stampede at his rally that killed 41 people in Tamil Nadu's Karur. "We inform you [this] with the approval of our party leader," the party wrote on its official X handle. Vijay began the tour on September 13 for the 2026 state elections.
