The Election Commission of India has informed the Madras HC that actor-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is not a recognised political party. A petition sought FIR amendments and de-recognition of TVK over alleged negligence causing 41 deaths. The court noted that the FIR issue is under CBI probe, while pending cases will be handled by a special bench.
