Following the horrific rape and murder of minor girl in Uttarakhand, enraged villagers blocked National Highway 74 demanding immediate arrest and justice. A large police force was deployed to control the escalating situation. Authorities had to intervene and persuade the crowd to lift the blockade. Villagers also demanded the girl’s jailed father be released on parole to attend last rites.
