Half of the villagers remained safe and untouched when a cloudburst triggered a massive landslide in Dharali village of Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district on Tuesday. On the morning of the incident, they had crossed a narrow bridge to attend Hardoodh, a ritual held each monsoon in reverence of Naag Devta. "It was divine intervention," said local resident Kavita Kumari.
