A visible time crystal has been developed for the first time. University of Colorado Boulder physicists filled glass cells with rod-shaped liquid crystals and exposed them to light, causing crystals to swirl in persistent patterns observable under microscope. The discovery was detailed in journal Nature Materials, with researchers saying it could pave way for various technological applications.
